While some of the following sketches and ideas might appear a bit frivolous, each was undertaken to meet a specific design challenge.
At right is a study for the entrance to the children's play area at Wertheim Village in Germany. The magical gateway through which children enter a fairy-tale world is treated with as much importance as the shopping experience of the adults.
