Every firm, architect and designer has its own design process, but they are not all equal, nor do they all respond equally well to a client's needs. Lockard Creative practices under a deeply considered, well-developed philosophy founded on the following tenets:
1. Design success is measured in terms of a project's particular criteria.
2. A project's criteria are its owner's criteria and it is the designer's responsibility to assist in its thorough definition.
3. The proposal of design solutions and their evaluation against the criteria is the central act of design.
4. Thorough and clear communication of proposed solutions is necessary to insightful and responsible evaluation.
5. The ability to responsibly propose and clearly communicate the widest range of possible solutions is the measure of a designer's skill. It must be both his highest obligation and his unending professional quest.
